I am glad I never wrote a piece like this. This is not a criticism from me, but rather a thought on how different people have different feelings about what comes across their way.

The Alchemist is a book I read and re-read many times. The first time I read it it was an interesting fable. Upon re-reading it, years apart, I started seeing different messages in there that illuminated insights and learnings. A few years ago I started researching The Hero's Journey and The Alchemist became a wonderful guide and metaphor for that journey.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad, The Secret, and Think and Grow Rich were resources that sparked me in starting the biggest adventure of my life so far - escaping the corporate world and starting up a company that have been doing business for the past 21 years.

Whatever the book is, I think the value that you get from it depends on your mindset, beliefs and willingness to learn. And if you get nothing from it, maybe you are not ready for the lessons it has to teach. Or maybe you have moved beyond what it has to teach you? Regardless of which it is, there is no reason to denigarate what these books have to offer to those who need their lessons.
